Klipsch The Fives Powered Speaker System - Open Box

I am quite impressed with these speakers. They can be configured to 24 bit 192000hz for Studio Quality Audio.Out of the box, and when I first connected them to my computer, I needed to change the default setting from a much lower bitrate.Next, I needed to dial in the EQ a little as I found the standard settings to be a tad flat and the highs were off.The firmware upgrade process to unlock the ability to control settings via bluetooth was a bit wonky. I had to connect a flash drive to the speakers to get the backup going. I am not taking a star for this becase it is clear that the folks at Klipsh have put in a significant amount of effort thought and documentation into the process, and I was done in 10 or so minutes.Once I tweaked the EQ and the position settings (my speakers are in corners) the sound just opened up and I honestly cannot find much fault with the sound overall.The build quality is excellent and is reflective of devices in this price range. Little things like faux cork on the bottom of the speakers and the overall finish of the dials and the color of the wood... even magnetic speaker covers to make it seamless and easy to take them off... its all very well put together.I hope that these speakers will last a very long time. I have more inputs than I can really use at present - but it helps future proof them so I can adapt them to a wide variety of uses. I may opt to add in a subwoofer down the road - but for now, the sound is amazing!My only minor gripe is that the the remote is a bit ugly, and the ergonomics make it feel uncomfortable in my hand. This is more a personal prefrence that I I would have liked something more rounded vs the sharp angles on this. That, and the fact that it is an IR remote, and not a RF remote are really the only things I can find to dislike about this set. These are things I can live with in light of the amazing sound that they produce.Well done Klipsh.

I've owned Klipsch speakers for 20+ years and have a nice 5.1 set up. I prefer the Klipsch sound and am aware of the many choices available.This is a quality product. I don't need charts and graphs to justify my purchase, as sound is subjective for each person as are the listening environments used....IMO. I am not an audiophile type but much more knowledgeable than a novice user. Other reviews have already covered all the technical specs.I was looking to replace a TV sound bar for a bedroom TV. The HDMI connection is a game changer, as the optical connections on the sound bars worked OK but the results were meh. (I bought sound bars for gifts a few years ago and now no one is using them due to connection issues or even the TV brand.Yes, the quality of sound bars has improved but so have powered speakers.When not using theses as TV these speakers, they stream music wonderfully. Note that there is a proprietary speaker cable extension available for purchase at the Klipsch site for about $36. The support staff was very helpful and shipped promptly.I have read the reviews, some were super critical while others are a bit oversold. If they don't work for you then return them. I believe that if companies make inferior products, they would be out of business quickly these days.Enjoy and Rock On!

I don't know much about speakers but I like them so much I bought two sets.

I am not an audiophile, but for me they sound is amazing, the quality is top, and the connectivity options are great. I like them more because they have more base than normal.Great purchase when they are on saleThe only thing that I didn’t like or couldn’t figure out is how to properly control the sound when connect them using the RCA cablesAnd the minor issue is that you have to press buttons really hard on the remote to make them work, but this is maybe only with my unit
