Overview
The KIN Play by Totem is a fully powered bookshelf speaker pair built around a 120-watt-per-channel amplifier and a high-resolution internal DAC, so there's no separate amp or receiver needed for real stereo sound. A customized 5-inch natural hybrid woofer and 1-inch metal alloy dome tweeter per speaker handle the sound reproduction.
Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX HD covers wireless streaming, while a switchable phono/line RCA input lets a turntable connect directly without an outboard phono preamp. Optical and 3.5mm AUX inputs round out the wired sources, a subwoofer output is available for adding low-end later, and the AMP IN connection accepts an external Wi-Fi streamer for multi-room setups.
One speaker runs as the active, powered unit while the other operates as its passive partner, so the pair functions as a single stereo system. Available in satin black or satin white.
